I don't mind because I love the sound and it makes them sound mean. They are loud, and I feel as I DD them more and wear them in and probably AutoX on them, they are getting louder. So far I am still very happy with these tires daily driving characteristics.

These things rock!Īfter first Autocross and about 300 miles:ĪUTOCROSS REVIEW UPDATE ONE: BF-Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp2 I did notice that under hard braking these tires held strong, I never once felt a lack of confidence when under hard braking I knew the tires would hold the car. When under hard corner the tires made noise but nothing that I couldn't bare with, again I chump this up to the tread design for wet weather driving. If I had the chance to go back, I would probably still buy these tires I am very happy with them. The side knuckles show a little wearing but nothing to worry about. After 12 runs the tires are still looking nice and barely broken in.
I wish they had a little more grip because I felt the fronts plowed a little, but that might be my lack of driving skills and not the tires. The side walls do seem extremely strong and I never once had the side wall collapse on me although I was running about 40psi in the front and 38psi in the rear. Once they were warmed up they were awesome, the grip was very good but I feel it was limited in dry due to all the channeling for the wet traction. The tires seem to take a little longer to heat up then others, this might be due to the different compound then the competition. I am very new to Autocross so my knowledge is limited on tire characteristics when in relation to racing. So far I am very happy with how these handle on the road.
They carry speed quite well and feel very planted when driving at higher speeds (roughly 90mph thus far). I figure this is because they are a pretty meaty tire, hence why they are so good in the wet. It's hard to say exactly how loud they are because I had my back seats out so everything was loud but I did hear tire noise coming from them. The tires are relatively quite and do not wonder when driving on the road. I haven't daily driven them too much but I did make a 60 miles trip to the autocross and back on them.

Plus no one uses the BFG Comp2s yet so I thought it would be nice to be able to review them for other potentially interested. I figured that since slushy season is coming up, the R-S3s would be a bad decision so I decided to get the BFG Comp2s and run with them. I did a lot of research and saw that the R-S3s are better in the dry but worse in the wet compared to the BFG Comp2s. The local tire shop I use highly suggested the new BFG Comp2s, they said for the money you cant beat the performance. For how expensive the Star Specs were I decided to immediately cut those out of my decision-making. I had narrowed it down to the Hankook R-S3, Dunlap Star Specs, and the BF Goodrich G-Force Comp2. I mainly use my car for autocross so I wanted to tire to be more designed for that. I only daily drive my car on the weekends and it doesn't see driving in the rain so wet performance wasn't a high priority. Wanted an ultra high performance summer tire that could be a dual-purpose tire for autocross and daily driving until I can obtain a second set of wheels that can be used as a dedicated track set with slicks.
